Labor Relations
Oregon Columbia NECA works closely with IBEW Local 48 to negotiate labor agreements. These agreements ensure standardized labor practices that support both contractors and the workforce.
As an Oregon-Columbia Chapter NECA member, you receive trusted representation in all matters with IBEW Local 48 – whether navigating grievances, negotiations, or day-to-day interactions with the Local Union.
Our chapter and IBEW Local 48 are committed to building strong labor-management collaboration through open communication, timely issue resolution, and solutions-focused engagement. Together, we prioritize transparency, member feedback, and collaborative problem-solving.
Contractors also benefit from opportunities to:
- Observe the IBEW Stewards Class
- Connect with business representatives in the field
- Gain clear guidance on hiring hall rules and best practices
These initiatives reduce misunderstandings, foster trust, and ensure smoother operations – helping contractors and electricians stay aligned, productive, and focused on delivering exceptional projects.

Pension Trust Disclosures
Employers contributing to multiemployer pension and benefit plans are required under the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) Accounting Standards Codification (ASC) 715-80 to include specific disclosures in their annual GAAP financial statements. These disclosures requirements have applied to public companies since fiscal years ending after December 15, 2011, and to private companies since fiscal years ending after December 15, 2012.
We review and update plan-level disclosure information annually to assist our members in meeting these reporting obligations. Current FASB guidance continues to require disclosures about contributions, funding status, and potential withdrawal liability for multiemployer plans.
